As we approach the festive season, we at Your London Tours are taking the opportunity to use the final blog of the year to look back at what has been a momentous last 12 months.
Award
Our look back starts with perhaps our proudest moment of 2018, when Your London Tours won the award for London Tour Operator of the Year. Organised by Luxury Travel Guide magazine, the Luxury Travel Awards recognise and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the travel and tourism industry throughout Europe. In addition, we attained a 5-star rating with TripAdvisor. The American-based website is the world’s largest travel site providing information on hotels, attractions, tours, and other travel related content.
Brexit Value
Another important factor on our look back at 2018 has been value for money. There has rarely been a better time to travel to London and the UK. Why? Well mainly because the British pound sterling continued to fall against the American, Canadian and Australian dollar, as well as against the Euro. This fall was accelerated by ‘Brexit’ (British exit of the federal European Union). In effect, visitors get more for their buck in UK hotels and restaurants, and generally more value from with travel, attractions and tours.
New Website
From a practical point of view in our look back, we also launched of our brand-new website. With colour-coded navigation it is designed to be more user-friendly and compatible with desk-top, tablet and mobile.
New Tours
To tie in with the website, we announced a new collection of private tours covering London and the most popular tour destinations within easy reach of the capital. In addition, new offerings celebrated the best of Britain’s rich heritage. One of these was the Royal Wedding Special which commemorated the marriage of Prince Harry to Megan Markle. Then in November we announced the launch of our Mayflower & Founding Fathers Tour. Reviving the ghosts of pioneers past, this tour commemorates the upcoming 400th anniversary of the famous ship setting sail from London. 2018 also saw the introduction of a new tour travelling option. We can now conduct several of our most popular London tours by ‘tube’ (the Londoners’ nickname for the subway transit system).
Your London Tours chief tour administrator Frank Martins said: “All in all, 2018 was a very good year for the company and our clients, but rest assured we will not be resting on our laurels, and are already working to ensure that for 2019, Your London Tours continues to be the first port of call for a trip to remember.”
