Option 1: British Museum
Civilization's hall of fame. Step into the Great Court and marvel at the magnificent glass roof. Below are seven million objects that make up the greatest collection of antiquities in the world, including the Rosetta Stone, the Elgin Marbles and the Egyptian Mummies. Simply one of the most fascinating buildings on earth.

Option 2: National Gallery
Contains one of the world's greatest collections of western European paintings: Gothic, Renaissance and Mannerism are displayed in the West Wing, while the North Wing is a monument to Baroque and the Dutch masters. In the East Wing we find prominent British artists alongside the Impressionists.

Option 3: Tate Britain
The nation’s own collection. A gallery of mainly British works up to 1920. Heavyweight highlights include Hogarth (the most jingoistic of painters?), Blake, Constable, Turner and Watts. Plus view the aquatic bints of Millais and Waterhouse and fill yourself with Bacon & Egg! That's right... Francis Bacon and Augustus Egg!

Option 4: Tate Modern
Self-styled 'Power House of Art' housed on seven floors of a huge converted power station, it contains one of the world’s greatest collections of modern art. From Dali to Da-Da and Picasso to Pop-Art. Be shocked by the new. Overcome your fear of abstract expressionism. Or smile at the emperor's new clothes.

Option 5: Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre
Faithful re-creation of the Big 'O' down by the riverside, scene of the Bard's greatest triumphs. It’s a working open-air theatre, exhibition and tour. Tours are run in-house, however, your guide can escort you. Tickets may be available for a performance.

Option 6: Victoria & Albert Museum
The world’s biggest collection of decorative arts. The 'nation's handbag' was built on the success of the 1851 Great Exhibition and illustrates the story of those who had money to burn on furbelows, fripperies and follies. Highlights include the Great Bed of Ware, Henry VIII's writing box, and James II's wedding suit.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
● General: Rest assured with Your London Tours: All our tours are tailored to YOUR requirements. The guide will be exclusively dedicated to your family or group during the tour itself, so you will be able to relax and enjoy your day.

● Important note: 'Private tour' means a privately chartered guided tour by luxury car, mini-coach or public transport. We do not offer tours to individuals wishing to join a larger group (for this you require a scheduled coach tour operator).

● Availability: To avoid disappointment, we recommend early booking to secure your preferred date. Dates may be subject to the availability of appropriate guides. Access to attractions may also be subject to daily or seasonal variations in opening times.

● The guide: Your tour will be conducted by a fully accredited & qualified guide who will confirm your itinerary at the start of the tour and provide a friendly and knowledgeable commentary throughout. For private car tours the guide will also drive the vehicle.

● Pick-up/drop-off: You can be picked-up for your tour anywhere in the London area, whether at your hotel, place of residence, or any venue of your request. The same applies as a dropping-off point after the tour.

● Timings: The guide will meet you at the recommended start time of 09.00 or any time of your request. The duration of this tour is 8 hours from pick-up to drop-off, which includes built-in stops for photo opportunities, facilities, and a 1-hour lunch break.

● Lunch: An appropriate restaurant, traditional pub, or sandwich stop can be arranged for lunch (note: tour price does not include food or refreshments). Alternatively, you may want to bring a pre-packed lunch. The guide usually takes a rest during this period.
